Bio
Sophie Nantongo (née Bisegerwa) is a celebrated Ugandan singer known for her smooth vocals and uplifting lyrics. Born to a Muslim father and an Adventist mother, she began singing in choirs before joining Stone Band, then Eagles Production in 2002. As the lead female vocalist, she gained national fame and later launched a solo career in 2003 with her "Liberty" album. Hits like “Wansumulula” and “Ekisanja” made her a household name. Known for promoting clean content, she openly criticized explicit music trends. In recent years, she turned to farming, particularly passion fruit cultivation, which proved more profitable than music. In May 2025, she headlined a concert at Serena Hotel to commemorate her musical journey.
