Bio
Soriba Kouyaté (1963–2010) was a Senegalese maestro of the kora, born in Dakar as the son of the esteemed kora player Mamadou Kouyaté. His musical journey resonated globally as he collaborated with luminaries such as Youssou N'Dour, Salif Keita, Peter Gabriel, Dizzy Gillespie, Harry Belafonte, Diana Ross, Ray Lema, and the Kora Jazz Trio. Tragically, Kouyaté's untimely passing at the age of 46 was marked by a heart attack, leaving behind a legacy that enriched the world of music with his virtuosity and cross-cultural collaborations.
