Bio
Stecia Mayanja, born Faridah Stecia Mayanja in Makindye, Kampala, is a Ugandan Afrobeat, reggae, and dancehall artist. She began singing at a young age after attending Saint Kizito School in Kyankwanzi. Her breakout came with Eagles Production Band, and later Golden Band, where her soulful voice and emotional lyrics made her a household name. Known for hits like "Equalizer," "Abakyala Mataali," and "Tulimumpaka," Stecia sings in both Luganda and English, often blending vulnerability with boldness. After a brief stint in Canada, she returned to Uganda in 2024, dispelling rumors about deportation. Her 2025 comeback concert at the Kampala Serena Hotel reaffirmed her place in the spotlight. Beyond music, Stecia has also featured in TV productions such as "The Honourables" and "Stecia and the House Girl," showcasing her flair for both comedy and drama. Her resilience through personal and professional ups and downs continues to inspire fans across Uganda.
