Since 1995, he has resided in Brussels, where he formed Welnéré, fusing European and African artists in a diverse range of musical styles. His collaboration with Bao Sissoko on the 2012 double CD "Aduna" received acclaim as an outstanding African exile album. Sow's lyrics explore Halpulaar culture preservation, exile challenges, nostalgia, political activism in Mauritania, and tributes to Senegalese figures.
