Tim Armstrong is an American musician, songwriter, and record producer known for his contributions as a vocalist and guitarist for Rancid, a prominent pop-rock band. He has a rich musical history, having been a member of Operation Ivy and the Downfall band. Tim's musical journey commenced in 1985, and in 1997, he co-founded Hellcat Records alongside Brett Gurewitz. He ventured into solo work, releasing his debut solo album, "A Poet's Life," in 2017, with the Aggrolites as his backing band. In March 2023, he made headlines by announcing the formation of a new band called Bad Optix, featuring members from the former Operation Ivy band.
