Zakes Bantwini, born Zakhele Madida, is a South African singer, producer, and label owner. He began his music career as a backing vocalist for famous South African musicians such as Thandiswa Mazwai and Hugh Masekela before releasing his award-winning debut album, "Love, Light & Music," in 2011. Bantwini has released several other successful albums and collaborated with various local and international artists, including Black Coffee and Bucie. He blends various music genres, including house, jazz, and African traditional music, in his music, and his uplifting lyrics inspire positivity and hope. Besides his music career, Bantwini is a successful entrepreneur who founded his own record label, Mayonie Productions, and launched a thriving restaurant chain. Bantwini remains a prominent figure in the South African music industry.
