BioGhana's African Brothers Band was formed in 1963 by the then-young Patrick Kwame Ampadu with his band members.
The initial band line-up included Rover Amo Kofi Ampadu, Kwasi Donkors (Snr. Eddie Donkor), Patrick Kwame Ampadu (alias Paa Steele), Kwame Anim, Yaw Asante and Kwadwo Ofori who named the band after the then President of Ghana's push for the creation of the Organization of African Unity.
Though the band who were primarily teenagers began performing in beer bars and Moslem wedding until their major break in 1966 with the release of "Agyanka Dabere" and "Suminasa Ntonko". The band released several other hits and earned the moniker the "BEETLES” of Ghana.
The band also achieved some notable feats - drama troupe and Miss African Band Pageant-, pulled overwhelming crowds to their events and dismantled myths about track durations.
The impact of the band's influence and contributions to Ghana music industry still remains till date.
