BioAfrigo Band is a Ugandan musical group that was formed in 1975 by the legendary musician and composer Moses Matovu with seven other members which include Charles Ssekyanzi, Jeff Sewava, Paddy Nsubuga, Paulo Serumagga, Fred Luyombya, Anthony Kyeyune, and Geoffrey Kizito. The band's music is a fusion of traditional Ugandan rhythms, Congolese soukous, and other East African and Western musical elements. Afrigo Band quickly gained popularity and became known for their electrifying performances, tight harmonies, and infectious rhythms. The band has released numerous albums over the years, including their debut album "Doctor kaweesa" in 1978, which became an instant hit. Over the years, the band has gone through several line-up changes and has produced some of Uganda's most iconic musicians, including Joanita Kawalya, Rachael Magoola, and Moses Matovu himself. Afrigo Band has performed all over the world and collaborated with several international artists. Afrigo Band remains one of the most successful musical groups in East Africa.
