BioBorn from an unlikely yet powerful collaboration between Todd Dunnigan, a farm boy from Northern Idaho, and Dayo Ayodele, a Yoruba musician from Lagos, Nigeria, Afrosonics emerged in 2013 as a Boise-based collective with a bold mission: to unite communities through the universal language of music.
The group features musicians from the Middle East, Europe, Africa, South America, and the United States, creating a rich sonic tapestry where African rhythms meet country twang, jazz finesse, rock energy, and operatic depth. Afrosonics is a living fusion of cultures.
What truly distinguishes them is their inclusion of New American musicians, refugees from conflict-affected regions, whose native sounds blend seamlessly with Idaho’s Americana roots. The result is a genre-defying, globally inspired experience.
They have shared stages with Angélique Kidjo, The Wailers, Tito Puente Jr., and more. As an Idaho-grown project, Afrosonics reflects the region’s diversity while offering a sound that connects hearts across the world.
