BioAlaska was a South African kwaito group active during the late 1990s and early 2000s, recognised for their role in township dance culture and the broader kwaito movement.
The original lineup formed with five members: Siphiwe “Picat” Sibeko, Thabo “Crazy T” Tsotetsi, Les “Les Ma-Ada” More, Andrew “Dityle / Ntswember” Moloisane, and
Lucky Mlakana.
Their catalogue, including tracks like "Accuse" and "Woshi," gained circulation within kwaito networks built around club play, radio rotation, and studio collaboration systems common in that era. Alaska’s output reflected the rhythmic, chant-led approach that defined the period.
Over time, they stopped functioning as a fully active group due to member deaths and reduced collective activity and the group gradually became inactive. Siphiwe “Picat” Sibeko remains the only publicly visible member associated with the group’s legacy.
