BioBideew Bou Bess is a Senegalese music band formed by three brothers: Moctar Sall, Baidy Sall, and Ibrahima Sall. Hailing from the northern region of Senegal, their music is a captivating blend of traditional Senegalese music, and Hip-hop. The group was established in 1994 in the suburbs of Dakar, and their early talents were evident when they secured victory in a competition organized by the Ministry of National Education and the French Institute in 1996. In 1999, their debut album was produced by the Jololi label, headed by the internationally acclaimed Senegalese star Youssou Ndour. Bideew Bou Bess's music is often characterized by its socially conscious themes, addressing several issues in its lyrics, including poverty, education, and the environment. Over the years, they have received numerous accolades for their music, notably winning the Kora Award for Best African Group in 2001.
