BioThe Black Missionaries is a prominent band based in Blantyre, with members residing in Chileka. Originally comprising five members, including Evison Matafale, Peter Amidu, and three of Robert Fumulani's seven sons: Musamude, Anjilu, and Chizondi. Tragically, Evison Matafale, the leader and founder, met his untimely demise while in police custody on November 7, 2001. Musamude Fumulani also passed away on September 17, 2007, due to TB. Currently, the band has three surviving founding members. The Black Missionaries have released ten albums titled Kuimba III to XII, captivating audiences with their soulful performances across the country. Their songs often delve into themes of love and Rastafari issues. Despite the challenges and losses, The Black Missionaries continue to be a musical force in Blantyre, leaving a lasting impact on Malawi's music scene.
