BioBlackByrd is a South African female pop trio from Cape Town recognized for combining pop, country, soft rock, and adult contemporary music with polished vocal harmonies and emotionally focused songwriting. The group was formed in 2012 by Tarryn Lamb, alongside Samantha Heldsinger and Tamsyn Maker. Axene Chaberski joined the lineup later to replace Samantha.
The trio achieved national success after signing with EMI Music and releasing the album "Strong," which featured successful singles including “All For Me” and “From the Bottom of My Heart.” Their music explored themes of resilience, relationships, empowerment, and hope, helping them develop a strong following across South Africa.
BlackByrd earned recognition through award nominations, festival appearances, and performances alongside international artists such as Mike + The Mechanics and Jamiroquai. Following the passing of Tamsyn Maker in 2022, the group later returned with a renewed lineup that included Tarryn Lamb, Tasha Zaaiman, and Tasché Burger.
