BioBlackByrd, is a popular South Africa band comprising of Tarryn Lamb, Axene Chaberski, Samantha Heldsinger (former member) and Tamsyn Maker (deceased).
The group was formed in 2012 by Tarryn Lamb, who posted an advert on Gumtree searching for other female musicians to form an all-girl group.
Axene Chaberski and Tamsyn Maker joined her, and the trio quickly became BlackByrd.
The group's sound is a fusion of pop and country music, with ballads about love and heartbreak.
Their debut album, Strong, was released by EMI just a few months after their formation.
Since then, they have released two more studio albums and have performed as opening acts for international artists.
BlackByrd has won two South African Music Awards, including the Best Duo or Group Award.
