BioBongo Maffin, a South African Kwaito music quartet, was formed by Appleseed (now Jah Seed) in 1996. They released their debut studio album a year later, followed by their sophomore release, "The Concerto," in 1998. Originally conceived as a project by South African Deejay Oscar, the group incorporates five languages into their music: Shona, English, Xhosa, Sotho, and Tswana. After a split up in 2006, Bongo Maffin reunited in 2018, marking their return with the single "Harare." The group is celebrated for their diverse albums and gained fame with the hit "Thath'isigubhu."
