Bio
Civil Twilight was a band formed by three childhood friends, Steven McKellar, Andrew McKellar, and Richard Wouters, in South Africa in 1996. They later relocated to Nashville in 2006, where they met their newest addition, Kevin Dailey. The band's music is a fusion of operatic and alternative elements, with Steven's eerie falsetto vocals and Andrew's guitar work, backed by Richard's drums and Kevin's keyboard and vocal harmonies. In 2009, Civil Twilight released their self-titled debut album, which included the hit single "Letters from the Sky". The album was well received and led to the band signing with Wind-up Records. Their second album, "Holy Weather", was released in 2012 and showcased a more experimental sound. Civil Twilight's third album, "Story of an Immigrant", was released in 2015 and explored themes of cultural identity and displacement. The album received positive reviews. The band toured extensively, playing at shows across the United States and Europe until it was disbanded in 2016.
