BioFour was a South African pop and R&B group formed during the first season of The X Factor South Africa. Made up of Jethro Tait, Steven Lee Lewis, and David Januari, the group gained national attention for their strong harmonies and polished performance style. Their journey peaked on 13 December 2014, when they were crowned the winners of the inaugural season of the competition. Their name reflected the group’s original structure, even though they continued as a trio after the show.
Following their victory, Four released a number of singles, including the popular track “Island.” earning them a loyal fanbase and a place in South Africa’s contemporary music landscape.
In October 2017, the group announced that they would be parting ways to focus on individual careers. Although they no longer perform together, Four remains one of the most memorable acts to emerge from The X Factor SA.
