BioIbibio Sound Machine is a British-Nigerian band led by Eno Williams, a London-born musician of Nigerian descent. Raised in a family steeped in Ibibio culture, Williams traveled to Nigeria to immerse herself in the music and dance of her heritage. Upon returning to London, she formed Ibibio Sound Machine in 2013 with a group of musicians who shared her passion for fusing traditional African music with modern styles.
The band's self-titled debut album was released in 2014 and praised for its infectious grooves and energetic live performances. Ibibio Sound Machine has since released several more albums and toured extensively around the world, earning a reputation as one of the most exciting live acts on the international music scene. With their unique blend of African rhythms, funk, and electronic music, the band continues to push the boundaries of modern music and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria and the Ibibio people.
