BioThe Ikenga Super Stars of Africa were a popular Nigerian highlife band formed in 1973. The group was led by Vincent Okoroego, a former member of Osita Osadebe's Nigeria Sound Makers. The group was popular in the 1970s and 1980s, touring Africa and Europe. Their unique musical style was termed "Ikwokilikwo." They released several LPs and singles over the years, including "Nkengas in London," "Ikenga of Africa," and "Nke Onye Asoa." In 1984, the band disbanded after several personnel changes and defections. Ikenga Super Stars of Africa left a lasting impact on the Nigerian music scene, contributing to the rich tapestry of African music.
