Established in 2022, the South African duo Inkabi Zezwe consists of Sjava (Jabulani Hadebe) and Big Zulu (Siyabonga Nene). They inked a recording deal with Warner Music for their collaborative album. On March 17, 2023, Big Zulu and Sjava revealed their joint project, Ukhamba, with the lead single Umbayimbayi released on March 24, 2023. The single swiftly claimed the top spot on the iTunes Top 50 and Spotify Top 100 South Africa, achieving 3× Platinum status. The Inkabi Zezwe tour, announced on April 1, is scheduled from June to September 2023. Their debut album, released on May 12, 2023, topped the charts in South Africa and Eswatini. Warner Music Africa later announced a partnership with Lacuna Creative Studios on July 15, 2023, for the post-production of a six-part documentary series chronicling the making of Sjava and Big Zulu’s Ukhamba studio album.
