BioJamali is a South African female pop and R&B trio formed through the reality TV show Coca-Cola Popstars in 2003. The group consists of Jacqui Carpede, Mariechan Luiters, and Liesl Penniken. Their name comes from the first two letters of each member’s name. After finishing as runners-up on the show, they quickly rose to fame in South Africa’s music industry. Their debut album “Jamali,”(2004) produced hit songs like “Greatest Love,” “Love Me for Me,” and “Dalile,” earning them a gold-certified release. Over the years, they released successful albums like “Yours Fatally,” In 2009, Jamali won a South African Music Award (SAMA) for Best English Pop Album, marking a major career highlight. After about 16 years in the industry, they officially went separate ways in 2019 to pursue solo careers. Jamali remains one of South Africa’s most iconic groups, remembered for shaping early pop music and delivering timeless hits that are still loved today.
