BioThe Langa Langa Stars, informally known as the "6 Patrons of Langa Langa Stars," were a prominent soukous band in 1980s DR Congo. They spearheaded the transition of Congolese rumba into the more contemporary and dance-friendly soukous genre. Comprising talents like Esperant Djenga Ka, Djuna Djanana, Dindo Yogo, Evoloko Jocker, Djo Mali, and Bozi Boziana, the band rose to acclaim for their musical prowess and their unique "sansaku" dance style. However, their glory was short-lived; by 1983, band members began departing for solo careers, leading to the band's dissolution in 1986. Despite its brevity, the Langa Langa Stars left an enduring imprint on Congolese music history.
