BioLes Quatre Etoiles, established in Paris in 1982, was a notable Congolese musical ensemble active from 1982 to 1996. They specialized in soukous, a popular dance music genre of the 1980s and 1990s. The group featured accomplished musicians, including Bopol Mansiamina (bass and rhythm guitar), Wuta Mayi (vocals), Syran Mbenza (lead guitar), and Nyboma (vocals), each with successful solo careers. Referred to as a "supergroup," they modernized soukous with a Parisian flair, reinterpreting their hits. While some saw their music as commercial, their singing and Syran M'Benza's guitar work were outstanding. The group thrived for years but later transitioned to the acoustic Rumba revival band Kékélé in response to the rise of Ndombolo, guided by producer Ibrahima Sylla.
