BioLes Wanyika is a musical ensemble based in Nairobi, Kenya, with members from Tanzania and Kenya. The band was established in 1978 by Rasheed Juma, Omar Shabani, Tom Malanga, Sajali Salum Zuwa, and Phoney Mkwanyule following their departure from the Simba Wanyika Band. Les Wanyika emerged as a distinct offshoot of Simba Wanyika, and a new lineup was introduced after the unfortunate passing of four of the founding members. In recognition of their Wanyika heritage, the band adopted the name Les Wanyika, signifying their connection to the Wanyika legacy, even though their lineup had evolved.
