BioThe Longombas were a Kenyan music duo consisting of two brothers, Christian and Lovy Longomba. Born into a family steeped in musical heritage, their father, Lovy Longomba, was a member of the prominent Congolese band Super Mazembe, and their grandfather, Vicky Longomba, was a renowned musician from TPOK Jazz. In 2002, the Longombas burst onto the Kenyan music scene with their breakout hit, "Dondosa." This infectious track instantly captivated listeners and shot the duo into the spotlight. In 2006, they had the opportunity to showcase their skills at the Channel O Music Video Awards in South Africa, leaving a lasting impression on the international stage. The brothers relocated to Los Angeles to expand their reach. Tragically, Christian Longomba passed away in 2021, leaving a void in the music industry. Despite the loss, their impact on the Kenyan music industry remains significant. The Longombas' infectious rhythms and soulful melodies continue to resonate with fans, ensuring their legacy lives on.
