Bio
Magic System, an Afro-pop quartet from the Marcory district in Ivory Coast, was formed in 1996 by Asalfo, Goudé, Tino, and Manadja. Thanks to their high-energy live shows, which caught the attention of talent scout Claude Bassolet, the band rose from local parties to creating one of Africa's biggest hits. Bassolet assisted in the release of their debut album "Papitou" in 1997, which featured the hit single "Momo," which became a national success. The band's popularity spread throughout Africa and France, resulting in the sale of over a million records. "Poisson d'Avril," their 2001 release, topped charts in Africa and the Caribbean, and "Cessa Kié la Vérité," their 2006 release, made the Billboard European Top 100. Magic System became the leading ambassadors of Afro-pop after several successful releases, performing for large audiences all over the world.
