BioMahlathini Nezintombi Zomgqashiyo, also known as Mahlathini and the Mahotella Queens, was a South African supergroup formed by producer Rupert Bopabe in Johannesburg in 1964. The group included Mahlatini, the Mahotella Queens, and the Makgona Tshole Band. They disbanded in 1972 due to royalty disagreements but reunited in 1983. From 1987 to 1997, they achieved international fame and were tagged Beatles of South Africa because of their high-energy performances. They toured extensively in South Africa and neighboring countries before finally disbanding in 1999.
