BioMashamplani, formed in 1995, emerged as a pioneering Kwaito band in South Africa, led by M'Du. Their debut EP, "Hey Kop" (1995), featured the standout track "Is Fokol Is Niks," solidifying their presence in the Kwaito scene. The original lineup disbanded in 1996 due to internal disputes, leading M'Du to reconfigure the group as Mashamplani 2. With Tshidiso, Peppa, Mjakes, and Tumi, they released the album "Kunjalo Kunjalo" in 1996. Over the years, they produced albums like "Lost 'N Found" (1997) and a compilation, "Back 2 Square." M'Du's leadership and the group's urban-meets-township sound left a lasting impact on Kwaito, contributing to its cultural significance in South Africa. Tumi's unfortunate passing in 2010 marked a poignant moment in the band's history.
