BioMatshikos is a renowned South African music group formed by Dan Tshanda in 1991. Initially composed of Penwell Kunene and Joseph Tshimange, Matshikos made a strong impact with their debut album, "The Park Is Mine," which gained both local and international success. Their blend of pop, mbaqanga, and reggae gave rise to hits like "I'm Trapped," "Iron Hand," and "Superstar." The group followed up with the successful albums "Innocent Man" (1992) and "Victory" (1993).
Tragically, Joseph Tshimange passed away after releasing his solo album, "Mthizman," and Penwell Kunene died in 2009. Despite these losses, Dan Tshanda continued to carry the Matshikos legacy forward until his death in 2019. Their sound, forever uplifting, remains a celebration of life and rhythm.
