BioMetal Orizon, what started in 1990 as a bold idea by the late Jarona "Spencer" Sekwababe and Bophelo "Santos" Thabakgolo turned into a movement. Mixing African rhythms with crushing riffs, they built their own Afro Metal sound and an entire scene along with it.
Their debut album, "Ancestral Blessing" (1999), sold over 8,500 copies, followed by "Myopic Enslavement" (2003), which surpassed 15,800 sales. They returned in 2018 with "Kings of Africa," featuring 'Tormented' and 'No More Blood.'
They’ve rocked stages across Botswana and South Africa, played alongside Groinchurn and Sacrifist, and used their music for causes like Rock Against HIV.
Now led by Dumisani "Rock Dawg" Matiha (vocals, guitars), Gabriel "Gab" Rampefe (guitars), Bophelo "Santos" Thabakgolo (vocals, bass), and Selaelo "Slaezah" Selaelo (drums), Metal Orizon is still going strong, louder than ever.
