BioNecessary Noize was a Kenyan hip-hop group initially consisting of rapper Bamzigi (who left because of personal disputes), singer Kevin Wyre, and female MC/singer Nazizi Hirji. They formed in October 2000, and under Audio Vault Studios (now Blu Zebra), they released their self-titled debut album in 2000, with Nyota Ndogo, Jerry Doobiez of K-South, and Mizchif from Zimbabwe among the guests. Their second album, Necessary Noize II: Kenyan Gal/Kenyan Boy, was released in 2004 and featured the well-known regional hit Bless My Room. While primarily focused on hip-hop, the group also performs R&B and reggaeton songs. The lyrics tackle socially conscious topics like politics, drugs, and AIDS that impact young people. They clinched the Kisima Music Awards In 2004 for Best Ragga Group and Best Group & Best Music Video ("Kenyan Gal/Boy").
