Five siblings—two sisters and three brothers—make up the Malagasy musical group, "Njava." The group is named after their father, a musical prodigy. Though the five siblings have been singing for a long time, they only became famous internationally in 1995 after a stellar performance at the WOMAD Festival. They usually sing about exile, societal struggles, and traditional rituals and celebrations.
