BioOfo and The Black Company was a Nigerian psychedelic funk band formed in Lagos in 1972. They were led by Larry Ifediorama, a charismatic guitarist and singer known for his flamboyant stage persona.
Ofo and the Black Company's music was a blend of traditional Nigerian rhythms with elements of funk, rock, and psychedelia. The band was known for their energetic live shows and use of African instruments such as the talking drum and the shekere.
The band released two albums, "Ofo and the Black Company" (1972) and "Allah Wakbarr" (1973). The albums were a critical and commercial success, and they helped to make Ofo and The Black Company one of the most popular bands in Nigeria.
However, the band disbanded in 1973 due to internal conflict. Ifediorama went on to form a new band, Ofo the Rock Company, which was also successful.
