BioOkukuseku International Band of Ghana, also known as Okukuseku's No.2 Guitar Band, was a highlife band founded in 1969 by Kofi Sammy and Water Proof. The band's members were De Frank Kakrah, Dr. Paa Bobo, Go Slow, Kofi Sammy, Kwesi Mould, and Water Proof.
"Okukuseku" which means "frequent changes" in the Twi language, was a significant characteristics of the band as the band was moved to Nigeria during Ghana's economic downtimes and began incorporating pidgin and Igbo to win over their Nigerian audiences.
The band produced several popular hits during the 1970s and 1980s, including "Abeiku", "Mebisa", and "Agatha".
Okukuseku's music was characterized by a mix of traditional African rhythms, jazz, and Latin music, with strong vocals and lively instrumentation featuring horns, guitars, and percussion.
Though inactive, the band's music remains popular and continues to be played on the airwaves and at social gatherings in Ghana and across the continent.
