BioThe Oriental Brothers, a renowned highlife band originating from Eastern Nigeria, was formed by the Opara brothers, Godwin Kabaka Opara, Ferdinand Dan Satch Emeka Opara and Christogonous Ezebuiro "Warrior" Obinna, alongside Nathaniel "Mangala" Ejiogu, Hybrilious Dkwilla' Alaraibe, and Prince Ichita. The band emerged as the first Nigerian highlife boy band after the devastating civil war that affected Eastern Nigeria, leading to their name "Oriental." Initially, they served as an in-house band at Easy Going Hotels in Owerri, owned by Chief James "Ewele" Azubuike. With a distinctive blend of Congolese guitar rhythm and traditional Igbo percussion rhythms, they became immensely famous, touring Africa and the rest of the world. Over the years, the group experienced multiple splits and re-shufflings, with members forming their own bands under the Oriental Brothers' name. Despite the challenges, the Oriental Brothers remained a symbol of pride and solace for many Igbo people.
