BioPacific Express, a jazz-rock band originating from Cape Town, South Africa, emerged in the 1970s. Pioneering as an informal Jazz School, it was the first of its kind in Cape Town during that period. Formed by Paul Abrahams, a band player and guitarist, alongside Issy Ariefden, they released their debut album "Black Fire" in 1976. The band also released three albums, including "Black Fire Inclusive," in the late 70s. They performed from the early 1970s until 1980, and the group left a lasting impact. In 2017, their debut release, "Black Fire," was re-issued as a limited edition collector's vinyl LP.
