BioPetit Cheval (which translates to "little horse") was a South African New Romantic rock band founded by Jon Selby.
Following their record deal with Warner Bros. Records in 1984, they released a successful debut album in 1985, but faced internal disputes that resulted in one band member leaving the group.
Adding Chris Bekker as a replacement, the band released an EP in 1986 but disbanded in 1987 due to persistent tensions among band members.
Post-disbandment, the former band members pursued diverse career paths. Craig Else ventured into sound engineering, Johan Griesel became a recording engineer, Danny de Wet founded Wonderboom, Harold Shenk focused on music production, and Francois du Plessis pursued avant-garde artistry.
Meanwhile, the band's founder, Selby, continued his songwriting career. Despite the breakup, some of their notable songs, such as "Once in a Lifetime" and the duet "Love is Knocking" with Lesley Rae Dowling, left a lasting mark on South African radio.
