BioOriginally formed in 1984 as Jeraz, Shiraz is a South African group with its roots as a club band performing at Club 84 in Pretoria. After the departure of their founder and manager, they underwent a name change to become Shiraz. In 1984, Shiraz recorded the impactful track "Fighting for Our Lives," addressing the emerging HIV/AIDS pandemic.
