BioSpoegwolf, meaning "spitwolf" in Afrikaans, emerged in 2012 as a vibrant rock band from Paarl, South Africa. The four-piece group, featuring Moskou du Toit, Chris von Wielligh, Albert van der Merwe and Danie du Toit, quickly gained recognition with their melody-driven blend of alternative rock and thoughtful folk-pop.
Their 2012 debut album, "Swaartekrag," established them with hits like "Lenie Blou" and "Somerset-Wes." Over the next decade, Spoegwolf released a string of acclaimed albums like "Somer" (2014), "Die Donker Toring" (2017), and "Koma" (2019), the latter becoming the first Afrikaans album to top the charts.
Known for their captivating live shows, Spoegwolf has also ventured into Europe, with an upcoming tour scheduled for August 2024. Their latest album, "Berge," released in June 2024, promises to solidify their position as a leading force in Afrikaans rock.
