BioStar Feminine Band is a dynamic group of seven Beninese girls between the ages of 10 and 17 known for blending highlife, Congolese rumba, and Sato music. Formed in 2016 after responding to a local radio call for free music training sessions. With no prior experience, they quickly learned to play different instruments, and even secured a rehearsal space provided by the town's mayor. Their music is known to address critical issues affecting African women, such as forced marriage and female circumcision while advocating for the education and independence of girls. By 2018, became well known performing regularly at different events, and in 2020, with the help of Jérémie Verdier, they released their self-titled debut album.
