BioThe Apostles of Aba were a Nigerian psychedelic funk band formed in the early 1970s. The band members were Walton Arungwa, Chyke Fusion Okoro, Murphy Williams, Joel Madubuike, Benji, Henry Asu Tandu, and Barry Starr. They released several albums, including "The Apostles" (1976), "Black Is Beautiful" (1977), and "The Sound of the Moment" (1979). Their music was a blend of traditional Nigerian rhythms with elements of funk, rock, and psychedelia. The band was one of the most popular bands in Nigeria in the 1970s, and they toured extensively throughout Africa and Europe. The Apostles disbanded in the early 1980s, but their music continues to be influential today. The band is considered one of the pioneers of psychedelic funk music, and they have inspired generations of Nigerian and African musicians.
