BioThe Expensives of Kaduna was a Nigerian rock band formed in Kaduna. Nigeria’s northern region is typically identified with Islamic conservatism. Still, in the late 1960s, it hosted a vibrant pop scene, with soulboy quintet The Expensives reigning as one of the most exciting acts. The Expensives were among the first bands to fuse traditional Nigerian music with Western rock and funk influences.
