BioThe Hykkers were a Nigerian rock band formed in Lagos in 1963. They were one of the first rock bands in Nigeria, and they played a significant role in developing the Nigerian music scene. The band's original members were Bob Miga, Jake Solo, Okonjo, Emile Lawson, Felix Umuofia, and Jeff Stone Afam. They were all young white-collar workers and students who met through their mutual love of music. The Hykkers' music was a blend of rock and roll, blues, and soul. They were influenced by American and British rock bands, but they also incorporated elements of traditional Nigerian music into their sound. The Hykkers were in Nigeria and toured throughout the country. They also released several albums, including "The Hykkers" (1965) and "Stone the Flower" (1968). The Hykkers disbanded in the early 1970s, but their music continues to be influential. They are considered one of the pioneers of rock music in Nigeria.
