BioThe Lowkeys is a South African music trio formed in 2016, consisting of Mongezi Mashabela (Big Zeesa) on drums, Lethabo Monyai (Dr. Bean) as a pianist, and DJ Ofentse Gama (Unlimited). Initially exploring diverse musical styles, they later delved into amapiano. The group introduced their first amapiano track via WhatsApp, quickly gaining traction in their local community. The amapiano trend expanded beyond their neighborhood, becoming a significant aspect of their lifestyle, extending beyond public relations and television. However, in 2020, Dr. Bean pursued a solo music career, and The Lowkeys continued their musical journey without him.
