BioThe Rising Sons were a South African rock band from Pietermaritzburg. The original lineup was Rod Keilly (lead vocals), Andy White (bass), Gerard Hawes (keyboards, harmonica, and guitar), Malcolm Watson (lead guitar), and Dave Campbell (drums). "Live!" was the band's debut album, released in 1968. The album was a commercial success, reaching number 10 on the South African charts. The band went on to release four more albums: "A Mixed Bag" in 1970, "Volume Two!" in 1971, "Resurrection" in 1971, and "The Jugglers Rock'n'Roll Boogie Band" in 1973. The band was also known for its social commentary, with songs typically tackling issues like as apartheid and poverty.
