BioVan Coke Kartel was an Afrikaans all-men alternative rock band formed in 2007 in South Africa.
The band consists of lead vocalist Francois van Coke, Jedd Kossew, Wynand Myburgh, and Dylan Hunt.
Francois van Coke, who was the lead vocalist of the popular South African rock band Fokofpolisiekar, teamed up with Kossew to form Van Coke Kartel.
The band quickly gained a following in the Afrikaans rock scene with their energetic live performances and their socially conscious lyrics.
Their debut album, "Van Coke Kartel," was released in 2007 and received critical acclaim.
The band followed up with a string of successful albums, earning them numerous awards including South African Music Award.
In 2017, after ten years and four albums, Van Coke Kartel announced their decision to disband.
Though, Van Coke Kartel officially disbanded in 2017, the group occasionally reunite for live shows.
