BioVanJess was an R&B duo formed 2009 consisting of sisters Ivana and Jessica Nwokike. They were born in Nigeria, but grew up in California, USA.
The duo gained popularity through their covers on YouTube before releasing their debut EP "00 till Escape" in 2015. Their sound is a blend of old-school R&B and contemporary electronic beats, drawing inspiration from artists like Aaliyah, Brandy, and TLC.
Since then, VanJess has released several successful singles, including "Through Enough" featuring GoldLink, "Addicted" and "Come Over". They have also collaborated with other artists like Masego, Berhana, and Kaytranada.
In 2018, VanJess signed with Keep Cool/RCA Records and released their debut album "Silk Canvas", which received critical acclaim and cemented their position in the R&B scene. They continue to tour and release music, with their most recent album "Homegrown" released in 2021.
In March 2023, the duo announced their split.
