BioYear of Dogs (YOD) is a dynamic four-piece indie-funk pop band from Cape Town, South Africa. Their debut single, "Sweet Red," released in January 2021, gained notable attention from various news media and editorial playlists. In the same year, they followed up with two additional singles, "Jade" and "You Got Me." The band consists of members Nic Van Graan, Themba Bosch, Alex Birns, and Dillon Birns. Influenced by acts like Mac De Marco, Jungle, and Parcels, as well as French house disco groups such as FKJ, Polo and Pan, and Paradis, YOD brings a diverse musical palette to their sound.
