BioYunasi, a celebrated Kenyan group, has innovated a distinctive East African music style called SESUBE, incorporating sega, isukuti, and benga elements. Rooted in local Kenyan culture, languages, and community influences, SESUBE also embraces European components. The group's origins trace back to the Redeemed Gospel Church in Huruma, where their journey began in the church choir. The name "Yunasi" symbolises unity, merging "you" from English with "na sisi" from Swahili, translating to "you and us." Their talented lineup includes Benson Mutua, Davis Ngalah, Estelle Lannoy, Erick Odhiambo, Dominic Odhiambo, Symon Maranga, Tobias Imani, Charles Owino, and Matthew Rabala. Their discography boasts albums like "Nairobi, the Sounds of Sesube" (2006), "The Great Atomic Power" (with Roland Van Campenhout), "Nang'i Amana (my Land, my Life)" (2004), "Self-titled Album Yunasi" (2002), and "Sesube Sound System" (2014).
