Ali Kiba, the multi-talented Tanzanian artist sometimes known as King Kiba, unveils a 7-track EP, "Starter." This masterpiece highlights his creative skills and reinforces the king's leading position in the music industry.

The 7-track EP which sits at number one on Boomplay Tanzania, takes the listeners through the Tanzanian musical landscape in 20 minutes. Each song is masterfully created to lead listeners through emotions, rhythms, and brilliant melodies.

The opening five-star track "Nahodha," is a mid-tempo track that sets the tone for the rest of the album, promising listeners a collection of melodically inclined tracks full of emotion. Alikiba’s soulful vocals and catchy hook make the song an instant earworm.

The second track, "Top Notch," featuring Tanzanian star Marioo, which also serves as the most popular track on the project, with just over 14,000 streams on Spotify at the time of this review, continues the impressive standard set by its predecessor. The collaboration demonstrates the chemistry between the two artists as they trade verses.

The track seamlessly flows into the next one, "Kheri," with its upbeat tempo and chord progression, it gives room for Ali kiba’s vocals to shine. Here he pours emotions into his lyrics as he talks about his woman and how fortunate he feels to have such a blessing.

The fourth track, "Hatari," featuring Jay Melody, was produced by Geniusjini X66 and has over 11k streams on Spotify. The track with its laid-back, feel-good vibe is perfect for a relaxed evening. Ali Kiba's and Jay Melody’s smooth vocals over the song’s gentle rhythm make it a worthy addition to an evening chill playlist.

The Afrobeats-influenced "Bailando" featuring African Princess Nandy, sits on fifth. With its Latin-inspired intro, the track also reveals the noticeable Indian influence in Bongo flava from the singing style. This also shows the creative fusion of cultures in the track, making it a unique piece.

The sixth track, "Chibaba," comes with lots of energy. The song’s infectious beat makes it a great addition to the EP, offering a fresh approach to the project.

The EP then draws to a close with the acoustic version of the first track, "Nahodha." The seventh track provides a delightsome contrast to the original version. Its stripped-down arrangement highlights Ali Kiba’s vocal range and emotions across his delivery, making it a befitting end to the EP.
