On 6 December 2023, Ugandan singer and producer Joshua Baraka has released a seven-track EP, Growing Pains.

Though Baraka is known to lean towards the Nigerian Alté music style, in Growing Pains, he skillfully blends dancehall and R&B, with expert production, revealing an undeniable artistic progression in his craft.

This EP explores themes such as love entanglements and familial strife. Baraka's sophisticated songwriting deftly navigates personal development and provides a nuanced examination of the difficulties of life.
